I bought the MSI GT73VR gaming laptop a couple months ago and found a few problems I ran into. Before I start I will like to get across that my model was a used condition, though it was described as "like new". Firstly, the laptop has a heating problem when you have maximum performance on for more than a couple hours. Even with the fans on turbo boost, the CPU and GPU begin to reach over 90 degrees Celsius and begin to throttle the performance. The laptop also gets really hot on the surface. So hot that the paint on the keys begins to melt off. The battery life is less than 30 mins unless you have it on battery saver, which extends it to an hour and a half. Battery life isn't important for many gamers, but to have it charging 24/7 makes the laptop heat up more, and the charger cable is not that long. I have to be within 2 feet of the outlet or the brick dangles off my table. My model brought a nonmax Q gtx1070SLI which do really well performance wise, but for a laptop of $1,400, it had a lot of flaws. The Thunderbolt 3 port is really helpful, though if you are going to connect external graphics cards through it prepare to lose over 20% of performance. PCI ports are better. The keyboard feels nice when it's not hot, I recommend turning off the lights cause it's just a nuisance on a laptop like this. The laptop also had so many useless programs when I got it, I had to spend hours uninstalling random non-gaming software. Again, the laptop I got was used so that might have been the problem. If you want to buy one I recommend paying the full 2000$ if you can. It will last you a lot longer and probably won't come with all these problems. Read full review
