The Intel Xeon W3680 is the second fastest chip in this line. At 3.33Ghz and with 6 cores, it's a demon at processing. This chip was paired with a HP Z400 type 2 motherboard, having 6 dims and capable of 24GB memory. The price was reasonable, too, at 1/2 the cost of the fastest chip, the venerable W3690. The setup was a Z400 type 2 board with 12gb memory, a GTX 1050ti GPU, and a 650w PSU. A standard Z400 cooler was capping the W3680 chip, Thermaltake T-7v paste.Win 7 Pro 64 bit was loaded and the Win Experience had everything at 7.8 but the HDD, at 7.6. Games were no problem and the Xeon chip rarely went above 31C. For the money and easy of setting up the BIOS, I can't say that there is another chip comparable. I thank the reviews on E-Bay for giving me the idea for this repurposed machine.Read full review
