Two sixteen core CPU's for fifty-something bucks? It's the deal of the century! I had a server that had two lower tier Opteron processors in it that was only 12 cores each, had no SSSE2 instructions support and a slower clock speed. I had an application that needed the more modern Intel instruction set SSSE2. Not only did this do the trick to allow me to run the application, I went from 24 to 32 cores AND a faster clock speed per core all for $50 something bucks! An excellent deal and thrilled with my purchase.

Do your research - lots of tweaks to be done to get the best performance. don't run CentOS 6.x on these, the kernel is too old and the system will kernel panic if C6 states are enabled in the bios. this is a known issue. if running in a workstation, use as many threads as possible, and stick to non-ecc ram for best performance. there are a few cases documenting this on the net. I'm running this paired with 40GB of DDR3 1333 RAM and a supermicro H8DGU-F motherboard with an RSC-2UU-3E8G riser card and an nvidia GT 730. I'm running Fedora 24, and this system rocks as a workstation in this configuration. tip: DEEPCOOL Gammax S40 coolers are small enough to fit completely inside a 4U case with no mods, and the way the bracket attaches makes it easy to build a custom mount for the G34 socket out of some sheet metal with very few tools. Works great.Read full review

Got two of these 16-core CPUs for my server, with 32 cores to work with virtualization is amazing. Running CentOS 6.8 with Xen for my virtualization platform and it never skips a beat. Would recommend to anyone wanting to virtualize their systems.

I used these when building out a new home server farm (personal data center, because I can). Some arrived abused and broken work physical damage and even parts torn off the bottom of the circuit board but still they have all been pushed 24 without any issues! 4x of these in a server makes for a 64-core, power hoarding beast that can hang with some of the best hardware available in 2019! Nope bad for a 8 year old cpu!
