Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Computer Servers
Noisy, but for the price, this server can't be beat. I got a 32GB RAM server with 1TB disk and dual quadcore 3.16GHz Xeon processors for under $250. Running HTOP shows EIGHT bars. Fun. A decade ago this server cost several thousand dollars. I installed Linux Mint 17.3 directly off the internal DVD drive. I then installed PostgreSQL 9.4. Queries generally run faster than they did on my 16GB Intel i5-4210 @ 1.7GHz laptop, not surprisingly. The only downside is that it is literally as loud as a vacuum cleaner. I had to rewire my house to get it setup in the basement utility room next to the furnace where no one will notice it's roaring. Oh, one more thing, the internal graphics adapter is an old Radeon, and modern Ubuntu systems (like Linux Mint) don't support it very well. It ends up using the CPU to draw everything, and it's noticeably slow doing even simple operations like resizing a web browser window. I don't mind at all, because it's a server in my basement with no attached monitor. A good use case for this device. This is a great server at a great price, but whatever you do, don't buy this as a desktop workstation - you will be very disappointed with the noise and lack of accelerated graphics.Read full review

works fine for what we need it to do. Just add your own hard drives and set the raid, install the OS, and then you have a nice cheap server to do whatever you need it for
