After Intel updated their software to make Optane memory ready for acceleration of a secondary drive, this drive became an option for me. I have an slow HGST 6TB drive that after accelerating it with the Optane memory became insanely fast. All my games are loading way faster. Amazing product if you are planing to accelerate your older drives. The picture shows: 1st - HDD 2nd - SSD - Sandisk X400 - 512GB 3rd - Intel Optane 32GB + Hard Drive

For a linux user like myself this could work well. I'm not using it as a caching drive since my base SSD is fast enough as it is. I just use it to host base OS and other "mostly read" stuff. I also put one of my swap filesystems on it. I like the random read performance. This is obviously the first product based on this technology so expect limited use cases for now. But it delivered what was promised for me at a very reasonable price IMO. I guess the key here is to do some research and know what to expect. This isn't your mainstream ssd replacement just yet... Hopefully in a few years.

Great idea, it was easy to setup. It’s accelerating our 2tb hard drive.

M10 Optane cache/scratch disk modules tend to be harder to find in quantities above 8GB and 16GB, and even more rarely at reasonable prices. Was very happy to get this 32GB unit for under $50. Arrived in original packaging/box.

This memory has screwed me up all day. I have had to re-install Windows 10 4 times! My experience is stay away if you have a ASUS motherboard z270E Strix I don't think anyone should have to go through this just to speed up a system.
