I don't know if it was the bubble-wrap it was in, that it wasn't in an anti-static envelope, or if it was dead when he sent it, but it didn't work. I can't count how many computers I have built and/or upgraded, so I know how to take precautions with grounding myself, using static free gloves, and bread-boarding the MOBO and parts so I don't brick it or the components. *shrug* It is what it is.

i was building a new pc gaming system with mid-range budget, this cpu is awesome, in compare with my old system (q6600,ddr2 800 4gb, asus maximus formula) its just another level, games are really fast now with the same video card, Lost planet 2 is playable now in 3d and with short time in loading, i really like my new system. If you want to buy this cpu, you should go for an aftermarket cooling, like the cooler master hyper 212 plus, stock fan really sucks
I purchased this CPU for testing purposes. It replaced an Intel Core i3 - 540 - 3.06GHz. All in all, I really saw very little improvement in the overall performance of the PC. I am using an MSI motherboard with OC genie and was able to overclock this CPU up to 3.25GHz before it became unstable. The i3 was overclocked at 3.53GHz and was completely stable. Also, both the i3 & i7 support hyperthreading which gives you a couple extra logical cores. For the price of this CPU, I would recommend saving a few bucks and going with the i3 or spending a little extra to get the i7.
very good possessor i currently am running my i5 760 overclocked at 4.065ghz with a tower cooler no liquid cooling with no stability issues or crashing. would like to upgrade to the i7 though... for those wondering my board is a asus P7P55D-E PRO with 8gb g-skill 1600 and 2 gtx 460 768mb in sli plus 2 sata 6 ssd's my windows experience index is 7.5 due to the possessor all others at 7.9
Awesome cpu got used for a great price here, overclocked to 4GHz stable simple and quick on a Asus P7P55D-E DX MB with a minor bump in vcore, load temps at 100% cpu usage goes to 75C with a Coolermaster V8, not trying for more 'til I get a 1156 bracket for my TRUE 120
