I purchased this to extend coverage out to my detached garage that I have a laptop set up in. Setting it up was rather simple, plenty on instructions online, to follow, so setup was easy. Once set up and placed in my 3 seasons poach my first impression was WOW I have 3-4 bars of signal on my WIFI now as I had nothing before. Than I was able to get signal, I was happy until I did a speed test and was a little bummed, but hey I have signal where as I did not before. It was all great until I actually sat in my porch with my iPad and tried to access the internet. My normal browsing on that half of the house really sucked compared to before, range extenders cut your bandwidth pretty much in half so your going to browse at half the speed as before. So for all intended purposes it does work, I have signal in my garage and that is what I wanted it for..downfall it hurts the other locations, so when not in use I unplug it. What can you say about one of these as they are not meant to look good. It does however, do everything it claims to do which is a bonus oh and .....it doesnt look that bad either.

Much more powerful than the previous Linksys Extender that we had installed. Had been using the AC1200 model RE6700. House is L-shaped and the RE6700 signal had been quite weak at the far end. Immediately upon replacing with the 7000, there was a huge increase in signal. We have 1900 square feet and this is a great, inexpensive solution over the Velop infrastructure.
