The AC2300 is by far the best router for someone who is looking to upgrade in a small to medium network environment. Setup was a breeze and network integration took only a very short time. The GUI interface and associated mobile device app is one of the best I've encountered. WiFi range is somewhat limited but for a small home or apartment it makes this the perfect device. The built in range extender function with other AC2300s makes expansion easier then other routers I've worked with in the past. Low profile design and a single LED allows this unit to fade into any location or decode. Gigabit network WAN and LAN ports were a huge boost to my home ethernet network alone with the 5g WiFi have eliminated network slowdowns. With multiple computers and mobile devices streaming, gaming and surfing this unit has been a boon for my home network. In summary, this has been the best investment for bringing my home network up to date on a budget. Gigabit WAN and 4 Gigabit LAN ports, dual band WiFi functions, great GUI interface and mobile device management app and built In range extending with othervAC2300s, has added value to this router at every turn. In the three weeks I've had this unit installed, I've all but forgot that it exists. After 30+ years in electronics and computers, that is how your infrastructure should be, there but totally transparent. Read full review

I bought this due to our living in a lower level with poor AT&T reception for phone. Using this as our router has eliminated bad phone calls, Our phones both have wi-fi calling features Iphone 7 and Samsung 8. Seems like a good strong reception area

Bought this one a month ago and getting really good speed. Is basically same router as C2300 and after updating firmware it has the HomeCare utilities as well which are good to have. This is super easy setup and has some pro tools like Smart Connect, QOS, and Airtime Fairness.

Not terribly nice to look at, but does it's job and does it well. This replaced an old Netgear N600 router that I had. I only had minimal exposure to TP-Link products through some wireless antennas that were bought through my work. They worked well, so I decided to give them a shot. I have Spectrum as my internet provider and, according to my speedtest app on my phone, I am now getting 120-130 mbps down and 6-7 up, which was way better than anything my old router was getting (30-40 down and 3-4 up on a good day). My smart thermostat has also stopped having issues since the switch. It's probably a bit big for my current needs, but I feel I'm future-proofed and on the right edge with the MU-MIMO technology so I shouldn't have to replace this for a long time coming.

The AC2300 is a zippy router with a lot of features. I especially love that it has two USB ports, allowing you to use the router as a makeshift file server. You can also plug a powered USB hub into the 3.0 port, allowing you to expand to several sharable storage devices. Not all TP-Link routers with USB ports will allow you to do this. (I'm using a 4 port Startech powered USB hub for just that purpose.)
