single fibre optical access system
which supports 2 Mbit/s and Ethernet
connections. The traffic can be routed
across 2 Mbit/s leased lines or into
an IP backbone network. The
maximum capacity is 32 Mbit/s and
the system is based on a single card
design.
This new release will aid the
converging process from a circuitswitched
(TDM) to a packet-switched
(IP) access network, since it offers
both 2Mbit/s (a max. of four) and
Ethernet.
The 1521FL IP provides unique
features like the possibility of
combining IP and TDM traffic on the
same access link and the inverse
MUX which enables the Ethernet
traffic to be mapped into a maximum
of four 2 Mbit/s channels at the
exchange side.
With auto-negotiation feature on the
10/100 Base-T Ethernet interface, the
1521FL IP can be automatically
configured to transmit either Ethernet
or fast Ethernet.
The available interfaces are based on
open standards, making the 1521FL
IP easy to connect to other vendors’
equipment in the net.

number of applications, such as
LAN and PABX interconnections or
