Spinner Bowl rest seems to be made of black Bakelite type of material used so that multiple brands of mixing bowls can be used there is a big and small option or where you insert the bearing post
The base connection with has a tilt feature for accessing The Mixing Bowl easily as well as push button release for when you want to use it as a handheld mixer.
