Vintage Commodore 1084-D Color Video Monitor with Cables and Manual!
Works Great! Very versatile for its time - accepts both digital and analog RGB signals as well as Chroma/Composite. Was originally purchased to couple to my Amiga A500 computer, but hooked that up to a big screen later, so this was only sparsely and randomly used in the 90’s whenever I needed to check if other A/V equipment at home worked. Plugged it in the other day (two decades later!) and played games on it - video and audio as good as always.
If you didn’t already know, the monitor has two lesser-known features that I always loved. First, it has 2 swing-out feet on the bottom near the rear and two pads flush on the bottom near the front, all so you can rest the monitor directly on the back edge of an Amiga A500 which positions the monitor at the perfect height, improves air flow, allows tucking cables underneath, and saves desktop space - such a simple design feature adds so much utility! Second, the monitor has a headphone jack on the left side which is very convenient for after-hours gaming!
Do note the picture with the original sales sticker on the side of the monitor - how cool is that?! $309 back in the day! Almost had to take out a loan back when :)
Tip: The latching mechanisms of the push-button power switch on these are known to not always engage - sometimes you’d have to toggle it a few times to get it to latch on or off. Most owners just wedged a toothpick in, if it got ornery. Never opened mine up to see it just needs a good cleaning or something like item 253718802415, since I always had it toggled on and plugged into a surge suppressor power strip. That way everything was always protected, plus I could turn the whole computer system on and off by using just the single power switch on the strip.
Includes power cable, monitor cable to plug directly into the Amiga (** these usually sell by themselves for ~$15 -$35), and original manual (** manuals usually sell by themselves for ~$9.99).
Given its vintage status, it is sold AS IS. Shipping cost is calculated by shipping calculator.
