For sale is my UPGRADED QUAD 303 POWER AMP and 33 pre amplifier.
Bought these a few years back with the intention of having the 33 upgraded to match the upgrade on the power amp, I just used them as they were.
The Quad 33 pre amp works, but the pop in buttons are temperamental also the pan slider is hard to get right, once set its no problem. The volume, tone controls all work as do all inputs and outputs, no crackles.
You may see fit to have these issues corrected - or not as I have done!
Here is the text from the original seller as to the upgrades, this amp is really top notch, my neighbours may disagree..... Using with a pair of LARGE Celestion\'s.....
Hifi has been my hobby for the past forty years and this system takes meright back but with a twist. This one is bang up to date as it has beenupgraded to work with modern equipment. Both have had new electrolyticcapacitors and various other components. The system has been on soak test forthe last three weeks and in that time I have used it with a Cyrus cd transport, Musical Fidelity dac and Role Windjammer speakers. New high qualityinterconnects will be included in the sale. The sound is very warm and the Bassgoes deep with a wide sound stage. The power amp has a new facia designed bymyself with gold RCA connections and eight gold binding posts (can be biwired.)The mains input is a fused kettle type socket. Their are some marks but that isonly to be expected
