Connection ports

• Power : use the provided power supply unit to connect to the power port.
• Line : connect landline service phone cable to this port, the other end of the cable should plug-in to wall phone outlet.
• Phone : connect telephone set to this port with the provided phone cable.

LED signals

• POWER LED: green power LED turns on when power supply is connected.

• BT LED: the Bluetooth LED is used to indicate various mobile or landline connection status.
  
  flash green light: standby mode for pairing up registered mobile phone or for new registration after power is turned on for the first time.
  no light: the LED turns off after mobile phone is registered and ready for receiving and making mobile phone calls.
  steady green light: indicates mobile phone service is in use.
  steady yellow light: indicates landline service is in use.
  

• The LINK button is used to register Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, up to three different mobile phones can be registered with U118. Auto pair-up function enables U118 to search for registered mobile phone in range when U118 is in standby mode.

To register a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone

1. When BT LED is in flash green light state, press on the LINK button for one second until the LED turns steady ON for one second, release the button and start to pair up mobile phone with U118 following the next two steps.

2.Turn on and activate the Bluetooth function of your mobile phone, and search for device name of "U118_BT", enter password "0000" to pair up with U118.

3. The BT green LED on U118 will turn off once a mobile phone is connected via Bluetooth function.

(To register another mobile phone with U118, first disable the Bluetooth function on the connected mobile phone to release U118 back to the standby mode. Then, repeat procedures 1,2, & 3 to register another Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. Up to three different mobile phones can be registered.)

U118 operational mode

• For incoming call: the connected regular telephone set will ring for incoming call from landline and mobile phones. Simply pick up the handset and answer incoming call from landline service or mobile service. User will hear a busy signal sound when a second incoming call comes in, while the user is talking on the other line.
• For dialing out: the default outgoing call route is though mobile service. However, the U118 can also dial out using landline service by adding the number "9" before dialing the phone number.

  Using mobile service: any outgoing calls, dialed out from the connected regular telephone set, are routed through the connected mobile phone using mobile service.

  Using landline service: dial "9 + phone number" will route the out-going call through landline service.

"Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Why my bluetooth mobile phone can not auto-connect to U118? I have to manually connect with U118 every time when I entered my house!A: Make sure that your phone's "Power Saving" is not ON and the Bluetooth function is always on. With power saving mode ON, your mobile phone will turn off "Bluetooth" function when it is not used after you leave your house and thus prohibit "Auto-connect" later on.Q: Why can't I hear dial tone after connecting my office phone with U118?A: First, make sure your office phone is not a digital phone, a digital phone requires specific hand-shake command that is brand dependent. U118 works with all types of analog phone, corded or cordless, but not digital phone. Your office is most likely the only place that may use digital phone. You can tell if your phone is digital, if it has separate functional buttons like "PARK", "FORWARD", and many different "LINE" choices for switching calls. Secondly, make sure that you connect your house phone to "PHONE" port of U118. The "LINE" port is for connecting the wall phone plug of landline service.Q: Do I have to pay mobile phone company for using the bluetooth function on my mobile phone?A: No, you don;t have to pay extra. The Bluetooth function is like camera on mobile phone, it is a hardware function of mobile phone not relating to mobile service provider.Q: Can U118 answer calls from two different mobile phones after I registered both mobile phones?A: U118 works one-on-one with any of three registered mobile phones. It is a first come (home) first serve baisis. Let's say both Mom and Dad's mobile were registered with U118. When Mom comes home first, her mobile phone will auto-connect with U118. Dad's mobile phone will not be connected to U118 because it is occupied. When Mom leaves the house, then U118 will search for signal from Dad's phone and connect automatically.
