Awesome 8 processor / 16 core Opteron Workstation 8 gig ram, 4.5TB storage I hate to be selling my monsteously brutal workstation, but I'm moving and I cannot take it with me, breaks my heart to see it go. It's a Tyan Transport VX50 8 processor machine with 8 AMD Opteron 875HE dual core low wattage processors installed for a total of 16 cores!
This machine screams through long Maya renders and chews up slow Real Flow dynamic simulations like nothing else. Imagine you're favorite multi-threaded application running on 16 threads. Wicked!
It also has a 3Ware 12 drive RAID card installed with 12 500GB seagate hard drives installed in a RAID 5 configuration with one drive as hot swap for a total of 4.5 TB of storage. Massive storage space and totally secure. It has Quadro FX 4500 graphics which are pretty damm awesome. It also has 4 hot swappable power supplies with built in redundancy.
The system runs flawlessly. It was professionally built and excellently maintained. It has only seen light use, ( I started traveling right after I purchased it, so it has been sitting dormant for months at a time); It has years of service ahead of it. It is clean and ready to rock.
I really hate to see it go, but I'm moving, can't take it with me, and I'm just not using it as much as I thought I would. The machine is heavy, I would guess 50 pounds; so shipping might get pricy. I will have it professionally packed and shipped super protected; but certainly prefer to have it picked up locally.
