Dear inquisitor-zoran,Hello,
Were you able to test all of these devices to see if they will boot
into the BIOS? I am not getting anything from this one. The error light
is not on, but I have tried everything to get into the BIOS console and
cannot. I know what I am doing, so I think this item is defective and
will require me to return it for another. If you can, please test the
BIOS boot before sending the new one. Thanks!I test every unit and it's associated power supply on a terminal to ensure it boots to the bios prompt before shipping. The few minutes it takes me to do this saves the buyer and I allot of headaches up front. When power is first applied you should get both green (power) and red (error) lights. The red light will go out after the first 5 seconds and the green will stay on as long as power is applied. If this is what you are seeing then the unit has power and is booting. If this is not what you see then return the unit and power supply for an exchange.Next check that you are using a serial "Null Modem" cable and that your terminal is set as follows:
baud rate: 19200,8,N,1,no flow control. If all this is correct then please try a different Null Modem cable (not all cables are alike), try a different terminal program, and even try it on a different computer's serial port. This will eliminate any problems not related to the soekris box.If you still can't see the bios output I'll gladly exchange it once I receive it back and test it myself. If it's defective I'll ship a new one back immediately at my expense.
