You're bidding on a Promise SuperTrak EX8350 PCI Express x4 (PCIe x4) RAID controller card. This is the OEM version (copper heatsink). I purchased it new about a year ago. I used it lightly (2-disk RAID 1 system partition) for about 6 months before switching to different hardware. The EX8350 supports up to 8 SATA hard disks in RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 6+, 10, 50 and JBOD. RAID 6+ is a new Promise-specific mode added in a recent BIOS update which provides 3-drive redundancy (vs. the 2-drive redundancy of typical RAID 6). The EX8350 supports both SATA 1.5Gb/s and SATA 3.0Gb/s (often incorrectly called 'SATA II') disk speeds. It also supports hot swapping and Native Command Queuing (NCQ). Hard drives up to (and maybe beyond) 1TB are supported, but PLEASE check the Promise hardware compatibility list before bidding. I take no responsibility for hardware incompatibility. Up to 4 controllers may be installed in a single system. Using 8 1TB disks, you'd have 6TB (unformatted) capacity in RAID 6 per controller (and up to 24TB per system).Auction includes everything you see below. In addition to the EX8350 RAID card, you get the original box, documentation, and drivers plus accessories. Accessories include a low profile bracket (still in plastic), eight (8) SATA data cables (no longer in plastic), and four (4) power adapters. Each power adapter adapts one 4-pin Molex to two 15-pin SATA. As usual, keep in mind that SATA hot plugging may not work with Molex adapters (no 3.3V power).This EX8350 works perfectly. I've upgraded the BIOS to v2.9.0.28 (latest version time of auction). This enables the newest features and avoids the latest bugs. Please be sure to use the matching driver / WebPAM for the installed BIOS.The IOP333 can run hot. That said, I've this EX8350 in my own system with no issues whatsoever. If adequate ventilation is a concern, I will include (at no charge) an appropriate 40mm heatsink / fan that you can install if necessary (let me know at time of payment).
