How to Install a Wireless Phone Jack System
Install the Base Unit Step One
Disconnect any remote phone systems. Step Two
Locate a convenient main telephone jack on the wall or floor of the room in which you wish to place the base unit, making sure there is also an electrical outlet within reach. If necessary, disconnect any phone attached to the jack. Step Three
Plug the base unit into an electrical outlet (do not plug into a surge protector). Light will turn green; soon thereafter, the light will turn solid red, until you connect it to a working phone line. Step Four
Connect the included six-foot phone cord to the connector labeled ‘LINE’ on the base unit, then connect the other end of the phone cord to the existing wall phone jack. The light on the base unit will turn solid green.
Install the Extension Units
(Repeat these steps for each individual extension unit) Step One
Decide whether you want to connect the extension unit to another phone, a fax machine, modem or your cable or satellite television box. Step Two
Plug the extension unit into an electrical outlet (do not plug into a surge protector). The light on the unit will flash red, then turn solid green. Step Three
Further verify the unit is working by plugging a phone into the extension unit and listening for a dial tone. The sound of the dial tone confirms that the base is communicating correctly with the extension unit. After confirming this, if the phone is not the device you wish to connect, unplug the phone from the extension unit and then plug the desired device into the extension unit. Step Four
Re-connect any remote phone systems
