OPNsense Fresh install of OPNsense 23.1. Setup via a PC web browser with ethernet connection to LAN port igb0 (192.168.1.1). Default username/password is root/opnsense.
Intel GbE Ports The order of the (6) ethernet ports from left to right is igb4, igb5, igb0, igb1, igb2, igb3.
Fans This appliance has two 1U server-style case cooling intake fans at the rear. They ramp up to max rpm at startup and then slowly move to down to operating rpm over several minutes. Operating acoustic is approximately 45 dBA.
Troubleshooting We cannot provide technical assistance with setup or use. Buyer assumes all responsibility for setup and use.The two most common causes of issues are:a) Ethernet cables are not attached to the correct ports (see GbE port order above)b) An issue with the user’s ISP and/or modem. This sometimes happens with residential ISP service. This usually can be solved by rebooting the modem and appliance after connecting to the WAN port.
