I have used Skype on my PC for over 2 years now. It is awesome to call Skype to Skype for free. I have also purchased SkypeOut, a paid service that allows users to make unlimited calls to phones within US and Canada for only 30$ a year. I can use SkypeOut from my PC as well as this Skype Phone. All i need is to have an internet connection. The good thing is all the phone numbers that i save on the PC are available to use from my Skype Netgear device. You can also purchase SkypeIn, another service where you can select an incoming number. People all over the world can dial this number and it will ring where you are logged into skype, whether its the pc or the Skype Phone. Currently, I have a landline that I only use for my home security as well as incoming calls. I have connected the land line to the Skype Netgear device. So, my landline calls also ring on the Skype Phone. I use SkypeOut for making outgoing calls to US and Canada. You can select if you want to use your land line or SkypeOut to make the calls. I have set it to always use SkypeOut. Calling other countries using Skype is also pretty cheap. Infact, when you buy SkypeOut for 30$, you get 10$ of credit for making calls. I am sure you will love using Skype as well as this device. For people who are not sure, I would recommend downloading Skype on your PC first and use it.
