What is it?:

You are bidding on a Brand New (bulk pack) Linksys WUSB11 v2.6 802.11b USB Wireless Ethernet Adapter.

A brand new, original Linksys 6' A to A, Male to Male USB Cable is included with the adapter.

These adapters have been certified by TiVo as being compatible with all Series 2 TiVos for use on a wireless network. They can also be used to connect PCs to a wireless network.

(Note: TiVo seems to be changing the web address of the list of compatible adapters pretty frequently lately. If the link above is broken, please visit the TiVo website's support section and search for the complete list of compatible wireless adapters.)

According to Microsoft, these adapters also work with the MSNTV2 set top box.

Using this to connect your TiVo to your Wireless Network?

• TiVo has a list of wireless adapters that they've certified to work with their DVRs. There are only 4 adapters on the market that are certified by TiVo to work with all versions of the Series 2 TiVo. This is one of them. (Will not work with DirectTV TiVo DVRs the new Series 3 Tivos, HD Tivos, or the Humax units with Tivo)

• TiVo's support site provides a good set of instructions that will show you how to connect your TiVo to your wireless network.

• If you have trouble getting your TiVo setup on your wireless network, they provide a great Troubleshooting guide

• Most Common reason installations fail: If you have a Wireless-G Router, make sure that it's configured for mixed mode (both 802.11b and 802.11g), not G-Only or Performance Mode.

IMPORTANT COMPATIBILITY NOTES:

• Note: This device does not support WPA encryption. No non-Tivo brand, third-party wireless adapter supports WPA encryption. If you are using WPA encryption on your wireless network now and want to continue doing so, this adapter is not the right product for you.

• Note: This adapter only works with Genuine Tivo Series 2 Units. It WILL NOT WORK with DirectTV TiVo DVRs the new Series 3 Tivos, HD Tivos, or the Humax units with Tivo.

What do I need to get this to work with my TiVo instead of a phone line connection or to talk to my PC/MAC so I can use the Tivo Desktop software?

1. You'll need a broadband internet connection. (Cable Internet or DSL)

2. You need a wireless network in your home. This is most commonly created by a wireless router or access point. (Open network or WEP encryption only - will not work with WPA encryption.)

3. If you have #1 and #2, you just buy one of these and plug it into the USB port on the back of your TiVo when it arrives.

4. (Don't forget to disconnect the phone cord from the TiVo - you won't be needing that anymore!)

5. Follow these instructions.

Want to use this on a PC Network?

No drivers are needed if you're going to be using the adapter with a TiVo, but if you want to use this adapter with a PC, you can get the drivers you need here.. The adapter will work under Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, and XP.

Windows Vista Users Note: We have tested this device under Windows Vista and have been unable to find stable drivers. We do not recommend this device for use on PCs running Windows Vista and Linksys has no plans to support this product under Windows Vista. Note that this has nothing to do with using this device with a TiVo Series 2 DVR. If you need a wireless adapter for use with your PC we recommend buying the WUSB11 v4 or the WUSB54G v4 USB adapter instead. You can find both in our eBay store.

Restrictions:

This item can only be shipped within the United States.

We do not ship outside the U.S. or to APO/FPO, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Due to zoning laws we cannot accommodate local product pickups. Every item must be shipped.
