The StorageWorks San Switch 2/16 is a Fibre Channel SAN Fabric Switch featuring 2Gb/s transfer speed and the optional ability to trunk or aggregate the throughput of up to four inter switch ports. With sixteen ports users will be able to create up to four 8Gb/s Trunked ISLs between two or more similar 2 Gbit/ second switches.

The San Switch also hasoptional Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) connectors which allow for higher port densitycompared to using GBICs. The higher speed coupled with the optional trunking featureallows users to install these switches in pairs for use as high speed backbone devices forlinking SAN islands with little to no performance degradation. The SAN Switch combines 1 Gbit/second and 2 Gbit/second Fibre Channel throughput with new features that greatlyimprove switch operation. FEATURES:
