Although a bit old now, the 805 is a big improvement over the 1600 and 2500 series routers. Incorporating an RJ45 based ethernet port (with crossover switch, so you do not have to worry about cat5 cable type) and an advanced "Smart Serial" interface, it makes an excellent router for both CCNA study and for EIGRP route injection in more advanced (CCNP, CCIE) labs. We have upgraded the memory and flash so that it will run a modern 12.3 IP Plus IOS image, and with the inclusion of a free smart serial cable, you are ready to plug it into your existing lab.
