Description
The LP10000 family of PCI-X host bus adapter offers a highly integrated 2Gb/s Fibre Channel HBA for use in servers based on either the conventional PCI or the latest PCI-X expansion bus architectures. The LP10000 delivers exceptional performance through the use of a sixth generation Emulex Thor controller. The Thor high performance controller is a highly integrated dual channel device that combines industry standard embedded ARM9™ processors, 1Gig/2Gig SERDES, and protocol technology into a single module. The LP10000 family includes both single- and dual-channel HBAs, in a low profile PCI (MD2) compliant card format.
The robust features of Emulex's LightPulse HBAs provide the flexibility and broad interoperability needed for complex, highly scalable SANs. The LP10000 family is fully software compatible with previous generations of Emulex's market leading HBAs, enabling customers to effortlessly migrate to Emulex's new HBAs, while also allowing for simplified integration into existing storage area networks. These Thor-based HBAs, and previous generation Emulex HBAs, leverage Emulex's recently introduced centralized HBA management suite, HBAnyware™. Emulex's HBAnyware reduces total cost of ownership and planned downtime by enabling sophisticated management capabilities such as remote firmware upgrades from a single console anywhere in a Fibre Channel or iSCSI SAN.
The Emulex LP10000 HBAs feature specialized hardware that yields superior performance in SANs and provides best in class server CPU offload. This architecture delivers low latency and high throughput in switched fabric, arbitrated loop and clustered environments.
