Commodore 64 Complete System with 1541 Disk Drive and 1701 Monitor:
$182.50

This is a complete Commodore 64 system, which includes thefollowing:

  • Commodore 64 computer complete with the original box, cables, manual, and packing materials
  • Commodore 1701 Monitor with cable (it is a four-wire cable that works, but it is not the original)
  • Commodore 1541 Disk Drive with the original box, cables, manual, and packing materials

I have owned this system since it was new and have takenvery good care of each component over the years. Each one is in absolutely pristine physicalcondition. They have been stored in mysmoke-free home for many years.

Please note that I tested the system today and took theabove photos. I confirmed that themonitor and disk drive work very well but the computer displays the followingerror message:

?OUT OF MEMORY ERROR in 0

A Google search revealed that this is an apparently commonand easily repaired error with the computer’s RAM.

There are very few Commodore 64 systems being offered in asgood of a condition as this one. Because Ihave owned the system for many years, I am hoping to see it go to a Commodoreor vintage computer collector who will appreciate each component’s quality andcondition.

Shipping Note: These components are very heavy, especiallythe monitor, so they will be a bit expensive to ship. The shipping cost listedis a high estimate. After the system isshipped to the winning buyer I will be sure to immediately refund any difference. International shipping rates are availableupon request.

On Nov-24-17 at 08:10:39 PST, seller added the following information:

A couple of ers have contacted me since this sale wasposted and informed me that, although the stated error is common and certainlycan be fixed, it will likely take a little trial and error to identify the badchip. I have not booted up the computer inat least a decade and it worked then, so I have no idea what caused the errorto occur when I booted it up to take the above pictures. I was able to load a program using the Load\"*\",8,1 command with no problem, but then the error appeared again when I tried torun it. I am not a technician by anystretch of the imagination so the way the repairs are described on the variousCommodore forums I read sounded simple enough. In fact, here are links to a forum that I think best addresses the errorand explains how to fix it. The firstlink listed even includes a link to a company in the UK from which you can buywhatever chips are needed (they are surprisingly inexpensive):
