UPDATE, MARCH 25, 2016...NOW LISTING IN CANADIAN FUNDS!!! FREE SHIPPING TO CANADA...OFFERS WELCOME, SHIPPING WILL BE COMBINED...PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT THE AVAILABILITY OF OTHER KEYS FOR OTHER MACHINES...I AM WORKING ON MORE LISTINGS NOW. Here is replacement BROWN COLOURED Commodore VIC-20 key, a spring and a stem/pad to mount the key on. Please look at the pictures, (YOU GET 1 SPRING AND STEM, THE MANY PICTURES FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES ARE THERE TO HELP YOU MAKE SURE THIS KEY WILL HELP YOU! AND THERE ARE SAMPLES OF THE 3 SIZES OF KEYS FROM THE BOTTOM SO YOU CAN BEST ENSURE THAT YOUR MACHINE HAS THIS SAME SORT OF X PATTERN.) they made a lot of VIC20\'S and I am not sure if they ever altered the X way the keys snap into place, I do not imagine there was much changed over the years, and they worked, they were very effective and felt nice to type on! Please ask any questions before you offer or buy. I hope this/these keys help you get your computer back in shape for maximum enjoyment. While I was in the midst of going through my collection, I was surprised to find out how many of my old computers were missing a key or two. Very discouraging, but they are 30+ years old and yes, $#IT HAPPENS. So, I went about trying to fix them. It was no easy task getting keys off without breaking the stem or the X at the top, rather vital to things working and fastening properly. I worked my fingers sore until I went to the kitchen and found a very large salad fork. It had 3 fingers on it, and a very wide space between them. I sized it up and it looked like Commodore would have almost made such a fork as a key removing tool. It was still not easy, and indeed, there were some runied keys along the way, but for the most part, after putting the fork under each letter and gently, ever so gently working it back and forth, usually, the key cap would come off and the X and the stem were left in good shape and 100% useable! I should make a video for this procedure! Anyway, then I can to figure out how to actually replace a key and make it work. There are 23 tiny little screws that hold the keyboard together, and three of them are often under a bit of tape that keeps the place where the wires connect in place and safe. They are phillips heads and come out pretty easily, but then you come to the shift lock key, which has to leads that go to a connector, and they must be gently warmed with a soldering iron and very likely using small pliers or the same screwdriver used for taking the screws out, once warm, they will come out of the hole leaving the cooling solder waiting to be heated up again when things go back together. Now, it is possible to change out some of the keys without going through all of this, if they are towards the far end of the keyboard, but do be careful not to do any damage to the shift lock key by not unsoldering it. Haste makes waste, and if you do get the entire board released, this is also a great time to take out some rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip and clean up the pads and the board to ensure that all the keys might just work a bit better, but if all was working well when you took it apart and you are just fixing one key, just get the key in and carry on.Included every key is a spring and a replacement stem. You will likely need the stem, and as the springs have a tendancy to fly away, make the spring as well.Once you open up the back of the keyboard, any broken key stems will come out, they will actually drop out...make sure the replacement goes in the same way the one that come out went, hold a finger on it, slip a spring over the stem on the upper side of the keyboard and then gently get the key in place, making sure the X is lined up, and then firmly but with some level of control, push the key onto the stem until you feel a somewhat satisfying click. They replacement key is now in place and ready to be used. Resolder the shift lock key wires, replace the 23 screws and get back to enjoying your computer!I hope this key helps you get your computer back in the game...David BradleyI am going through my vast collection and letting some things go to other collectors around the world. Shipping costs are your responsibility and, with some difficulty, local pickup is possible! Thanks so much for having a look, and stay tuned for more bits of Commodore history over the coming days, weeks, years...David BradleyI have put in rough estimates for shipping to Canada, the USA and the World...they are estimates and depending on your choices, might go up or down. This is being sold where is, as is...I would think insurance would be a good thing in case of a tragic incident along the way...but please, talk to me, please ask questions...have a great rest of the day!I often sell pins, buttons, Playboy items, but have just recently started to go through and assess my vintage Commodore computers and accessories...the information below might be helpful to this item, perhaps not...A wonderful pin! For people overseas, the shipping price you are quoted here is not fast, and there is no tracking number...speed and tracking numbers are expensive...if you want such things, I will figure out the cost and alter your invoice...typically things from Canada to far flung parts of the world take weeks, not days and the estimates are typically wrong and too optimistic on the delivery date. I write this because a fellow from Germany manipulated the system to get his money refunded long before the date that his package could have ever arrived, even after I was very patient with him about giving him extra time to pay for his items. I did ponder not shipping overseas any more, but that seemed a bit harsh due to one mishap, albeit, an expensive and upsetting mishap. So, I pack carefully, I ship about once a week, and I aim to please...if you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to write to me VIA and if you want to discuss price, please do it before you offer VIA MY ACCOUNT...I did have a fellow do the buy it now price on lots of things and then want to bargain for a better deal...we did work it out, but the negotiations should happen before the offerding VIA MY ACCOUNT...much easier that way...Thanks for looking, thanks for offerding, I remain at your service...A wonderful pin! ENJOY THIS VERY RARE OFFERING...BEAUTIFUL PIN GREAT FOR WEARING, SHARING, AND TRADING. IF YOU WANT A TRACKING NUMBER, I CAN DO THAT AT YOUR EXPENSE...AND A TRACKING NUMBER TO AN OVERSEAS DESTINATION IS BETWEEN 15 AND 25 DOLLARS...AS I SAY, I AIM TO PLEASE, AND COMMUNICATION IS KEY TO A CONTINUED SUCCESSFUL RELATIONSHIP! Oh, a tracking number to the USA is about $20. I can get you such a number at your cost...oh, and by the way, I do my best to figure out what each and every pin and buttons means, but I could be mistaken, mostly I am correct, I think, but it is possible...please ask questions before you offer or offer. IF THIS IS A NEW PIN, SORRY THE PICTURE MIGHT NOT BE SO GOOD, IT IS HARD TO SHOOT THROUGH THE PLASTIC, BUT THEN AGAIN, IT IS NEW! I always aim to please, but please, please do ask questions before you offer, and do not forget to check out my other sales! I love pins, buttons, antiques and old Commodore computers. I sometimes offer free shipping, sometimes not, so whatever this listing shows up as when you look is what it is supposed to be. I am going to get rich here, but I am also not here to lose money when something sells. Once again, thanks so much for looking, offerding, asking, etc, etc, etc...StephOne last thought...keywords in the item title may or may not fit each and every item. I list lots, and I try to list fast and efficent and be perfect, but alas, some keywords might not get updated or deleted, but also, remember that keywords are supposed to make it easy for people to find things and, for example, if I am listing Olympic items, I might put the name of the most recent games to help people find trader pins or Olympic related pins. Have a great day!THANKS FOR LOOKING...OFFERS WILL BE ENTERTAINED...
