This cable is used to connect the Monitor port of your Atari Home Computer to the S-Video input of your modern TV. It has a mini-DIN 4-pin plug for S-Video and two RCA plugs for Left and Right audio. Atari 8-bit Computers do not have stereo sound, this cable produces dual mono audio. See the photos for connection examples. Function :
S-Video is the highest quality of video signal available from the Atari 8-bit computers. It is a multi-channel video signal composed of a luminance signal (Y for short) that carries the black and white picture information (as well as sync) and a chrominance signal (C for short) that carries the colour information for the picture.800XL/1200XL Notes :
This Cable is not compatible with Atari 800XL and 1200XL model computers. Atari didn\'t connect the required chrominance signal (C for short) internally in these models so it will be unavailable unless reconnected.
