I’ve decided to start letting go of all the groovy old Macintosh goodies I have collected over the years. They’ve been sitting in storage since my big move two years ago, and need to go to new homes, where they will be honored, enjoyed and appreciated for what they are. For a period of about 5-6 years, around 20 years ago, I became obsessed with collecting vintage Macs and all the associated accoutrement I could find.
This listing is for the 1993 release of Maxis\' SIM CITY 2000 for Macintosh, on two 1.4MB (2-hole) floppy disks. Billed as \"The Ultimate City Simulator\", this was one of the \"must-haves\" of its day.
These are in great shape, used them to install on both a Mac SE/30 and a Quadra 950 recently, both installations went beautifully.
These floppies I am currently listing are part of a large collection of commercially-produced floppy disks of vintage Mac software I\'ve gathered over the years. As I\'ve been going through these and getting them ready to list, I\'ve been running Disk First Aid on them, testing them in a PowerMac 7100/80 and/or a Mac Plus.
If there are any problems found, I am also running Central Point\'s MacTools DiskFix (one of the best of the vintage disk utilities!), and also running DiskWarrior on them, if necessary.The disks I\'m listing all mount on the desktop as they should. They are readable. If they are intended to be bootable, they are.
The floppies have all been tucked away safely in a Rubbermaid tub in storage for at at least 15 years at this point, and need to go to a new Vintage Mac enthusiast.
