1984 AM General Military M929 All-wheel-drive 5 ton dump truck w 10 ton dump:
$8500.00

Great truck. Valid West Virginia inspection. Air brakes. All wheel drive. Strong 10 foot dump bed. New tires with lots of great tread. Goes mostly everywhere. 26,000 lbs, so you don\'t need a CDL to drive it. 66,000 original miles.
Used on the farm for hauling logs and gravel. It is way overbuilt, so hauling 10 tons is no problem. It isn\'t fast, but it gets you where you need to go. It is a beast, and fun to drive. You will turn heads wherever you go. I have driven it up and down the Ohio Valley, hauling gravel and logs. The problem is that I don\'t use it enough.
If you look on the internet - truckpaper, Oshkosh, commercialtrucktrader, etc., you will see the same truck selling for $15,000 - $40,000. I would sell it for those prices if it didn\'t have a few problems that I will tell you about.
It sat for most of this winter since I didn\'t have any hauling jobs around the farm. Last week I went to start it, but the relay just clicked. It has brand new batteries, so when I jumped the starter solenoid with a screw driver, it roared to life with no problem. Drove it for awhile. It ran strong as always but started to get hot. It seems like the thermostat might be stuck and isn\'t allowing fluid into the radiator. Checked the radiator and it has oil in it. The oil also has water in it. Could be a head gasket or oil cooler. It drove strong until I parked it, but it should be looked at by a diesel mechanic. I\'ve done most of the hauling I need to do with it, so it is time to let it go.
The price is firm, since I know the truck is worth the money. Do a quick internet search and you will see what I am talking about. I\'m in no hurry to sell it, so don\'t waste your time and my time by offering less. It is a great truck with a few problems that a good mechanic can take care of and get you on the road with a beast of a hauling machine.
SPECS -
250 hp 6 cylinder Cummins which runs great. Behind that is an Allison 5 speed automatic backed by an air shift 2 speed transfer case. (I have had trouble shifting this into low range. Haven\'t needed it. High range works fine). All functions and lights operate fine. Paint is in fair condition some rust, interior is OK. Seats aren\'t ripped. Bed is solid. The all wheel drive works fine. Full air brakes work great.
