My wifeand I have been collecting and selling on since 1997. I havebeen repairing Macs since the early part of 1986, which includeddozens of the 128k Macs.

PLEASE NOTE- I have beenreceivingtons of emails asking if this drive has had the color changed by using any kind of bleaching agent or chemicals! No, it has not, This is a Japanese produced drive! But I am changing my listing policies on that now! There is absolutely nothing wrong with using Hydrogen Peroxide, tolightencases!!!! I have too many Macs, and drives, that I have been cherry picking, to sell on !!!

Several years ago, I started listing Macs thatwere treated, but soon, because of a couple of prima donnas, I beganoffering Macs that were onlywashed over and over in the dish washer. That does a lot to remove yellowing

Using a hydrogen Peroxide treatment, does nothing to destroy theplastics!!! Ifdone properly, which takes at the very least three hours in the very hot TEXAS sun (temps in the high90s), with constant application and rinsing, you get a great product! People who are against this on the numerous forums, fall into two groups (generally) -those who haver tried it and gotten bad results, and those who read about it on the very informative online sites and are too lazy to correctly do it!

Also, I will point out that the people who are against changing the color (really, changing the color to original, is a modification?) of Macintosh cases, are the same ones that are against using the Floppy Emu, and SCSI2SD!

Lightening any Apple components usingHydrogen Peroxide does nothing to destroy any collector value, and I have yet to see any evidence that it does, other than what several self appointed gurus say!!!!

Thislisting is for an outstanding 1984 Apple M0130 External 400kFloppy Drive. All plastics were machine washed. The disk carriagewas extensively cleaned to removed the old grease, and then properlyre-lubricated. The read and write head was height adjusted, andcleaned with 91% alcohol. The circuit board was cleaned withcompressed air. It was tested over a two day period on a Mac 512k,transferring files on disks for a 1984 128k.

Thecolor is absolutely FANTASTIC:) This a a Japanese produced drive. The plastics of the units produced in Japan hold up much betteragainst discoloration as opposed to the American produced ones. There is no corrosion on the connector, and the cable is whistle clean! The Apple logos on the thumb screws, look great!

Agreat addition to an early Apple collection!!!!
