Detailed Explanation for this Vulnerability Assessment

Summary :

The remote package "nasm" is missing a security patch.

Description :

Jonathan Rockway discovered a locally exploitable buffer overflow in
the error() function of nasm. If a possible hacker tricked a user into
assembling a malicious source file, they could exploit this to execute
arbitrary code with the rights of the user that runs nasm.

Solution :

Upgrade to :
- nasm-0.98.38-1ubuntu0.1 (Ubuntu 4.10)
